Homecoming 2016

UTPB Homecoming is February 15-20. This year’s theme is Back to the 80s! The UTPB family is invited to all events. Eric O’Shea, nationally recognized comedian, hosts our Lip Sync contest on Tuesday, we have an 80s costume contest during halftime of the women’s game on Thursday, and the Roller Rave roller skating dance party ends the week on Saturday. Football Season Tickets Now Available

NCAA football descends on the Permian Basin this fall. Get your tickets and witness history as UTPB Athletics Falcon football takes the field at Ratliff Stadium for their inaugural season. Football Season Tickets are now available at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center both online and at the box office.

Nursing Receives Accreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UTPB is now accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency that serves as a voluntary, self-regulatory process to encourage the continuous improvement of nursing education and post-baccalaureate residency programs.

Signing Day 2016

The Football Signing Class of 2016 was announced on February 3rd. UTPB signed a total of twenty seven players including twenty four students from across Texas and three students from American Samoa.

UTPB Recognized for Value and Quality

A new ranking by The Economist of all U.S. four-year, non-vocational colleges and universities ranks The University of Texas of the Permian Basin 103rd in the nation for value. The ranking establishes UTPB as the third in Texas out of 42 higher educational institutions and the first in the UT System.

Campus Carry Law

The Campus Carry Law (SB11) is being discussed on campus by students, faculty and staff.  The law goes into effect August 1, 2016.  President W. David Watts has established a Campus Carry Committee that will recommend to him S.B. 11 implementation policies by the end of November. The campus carry committee will hold a number forums on campus and welcomes your comments through an online survey.
