Tony Love is the Director of Career Services at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Mr. Love first arrived at UTPB in 2003. He has dual bachelors degrees in Accounting and Mass Communications from UTPB and a Master's degree in Educational Counseling from Sul Ross State University. Mr. Love also holds vocational counseling certification with the Texas Education Agency.
Mr. Love is a frequent speaker to student groups and conducts workshops on resume writing, interviewing, career options, career exploration and job search strategies. He has over twelve years business experience in the private sector and over nineteen years experience in public schools and universities. He annually hosts career exploration summer camps for area high school students, the "UTPB Spring Job Fair" for all UTPB students during the the spring semester, the "UTPB-COBE Career Fair" in the fall along with numerous seminars and events throughout the fall and spring semester. He implemented the Master Minds 9 program, which has been a mainstay program for students who want to improve career readiness along with the UTPB Work Co-op Program..
Mr. Love served five years on the board of directors for Odessa-LINKS and is currently a member of the Permian Basin Society of Human Resources Professionals, the Permian Basin Area Health Education Center Advisory Board and a contributing member to the National Association of Colleges and Employers. He was recently honored by the UTPB students of the National Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi) as the outstanding staff member of 2013 for "serving with heart and passion" and exceptional leadership along with motivation of pursuit of education.
