Endowments provide an ideal way to support institutional priorities at UT Permian Basin. Because endowment funds exist in perpetuity, they help maintain the University's financial stability while allowing the University to pursue a number of initiatives not supported by state appropriations or tuition and fees. Endowed giving also creates a unique naming opportunity for donors.
Currently defined endowment needs, as listed here, represent the most critical priorities at UT Permian Basin. Donors may establish a new endowment to support one of these priorities or may choose to add to an existing endowment.
Institutional Priorities
- Endowed Scholarships - Increasing the scholarship opportunities available to UT Permian Basin students. These scholarships may include named endowed Presidential Scholarships as well as other named endowed scholarships.
- Endowed Faculty Positions - Improving the recruitment, retention, and support of exceptional faculty in specific disciplines. These positions include named chairs of academic disciplines or programs, professorships, and fellowships. Through endowment distributions, the University can offer competitive salaries and fund scholarly activities of the appointees.
- Fund for Excellence - Ensuring strong executive leadership and enriching nonstate-funded programs such as student athletics.
- Faculty Development - Supporting teaching innovations and scholarship endeavors that improve instructional quality and enhance the student learning experience.
- Facilities - Providing additional maintenance and operational funds for instructional facilities, which improve teaching and research efforts.
Endless possibilities for the University's growth exist, so that the gift areas and minimum requirements for named giving outlined below represent but a few selected areas. If your gift falls into a special endowment area, the Office of Institutional Advancement will be glad to customize a giving opportunity that best meets your needs as well as those of UT Permian Basin.
