Grand Lobby
Designed throughout for maximum efficiency and patron enjoyment, the Grand Lobby will be open, inviting, attractive and comfortable. The facility’s initial welcoming space will include a vast open area rising the full three levels of the building along with a grand staircase and elevators providing access to each floor. Capable of accommodating nonperformance events, the Grand Lobby will also include fixed and movable concession counters, ticket will call window and coat check areas. A permanent donor wall displaying the names of all Founders Campaign donors will be a focal point of the facility’s primary public space.
Performance Hall
The largest venue in the facility will vastly improve the opportunity for the Permian Basin Performance Hallto enjoy world-class performers and cultural entertainment. The size, location and features of the main theater will greatly expand the number, quality and range of events that will be attracted to the area.
The heart of the Center will be a 1,800-seat performance hall offering excellent acoustics and high-quality theater systems and design finishes. Two balconies along with floor and parterre orchestra seating will provide patrons with extraordinary sight lines, comfort and convenience. The two balcony design also provides the flexibility to limit available seating to better host smaller events while still ensuring an optimal audience experience. To further enhance appropriate events, an orchestra pit floor lift can extend the stage well beyond the proscenium into the audience chamber offering greater intimacy and enjoyment for both audience and performers. State-of-the art sound, lighting and technical features will accompany stage, wings and performer support areas suitable for all local performing groups as well as touring Broadway and other commercial entertainment.
The Helen Greathouse Hall
Named in honor of the late Helen K. Greathouse, The Helen Greathouse Hallthis versatile performance space will offer an excellent acoustically-treated venue for smaller events not suited for the 1,800-seat theater. This flat-floor, multi-use hall will be capable of accommodating up to 200 for individual recitals or small group and ensemble performances. The Helen Greathouse Hall will also be designed to host lectures, receptions and seated meal functions that may be served from a separate catering kitchen. The Hall is designed to accommodate presentations simultaneously and without conflicting with performances being staged in the main performance hall.
