Campus Information

It is my pleasure to welcome you to The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. UTPB is dedicated to students and academic success. Two of the nation’s top news sources – US News & World Report and Newsweek -- have applauded us. And we are the ONLY university in Texas they recognized for superior student achievement. If you are ready to join a school that produces the grads that Newsweek likes to call WINNERS, then come see us at UTPB.

Our business school is ranked in the top third of U.S. business schools, and earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – International. Our social work program is nationally accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Out art school and School of Education are also nationally recognized. And, we offer degrees in some of the fastest growing career fields such as education, criminal justice, computer science, petroleum technology and information systems.

UT Permian Basin is a dynamic, growing campus. The atmosphere on campus is a great mix of academics and fun. With about 3,600 students and sunny skies for most of the year, UTPB is the perfect place to study on the courtyard lawn or take in a Falcon soccer match.

The campus includes one of the country's best Visual Arts Studio and the two-story Library/Lecture Center. Plans are under way to build a world class performing arts center, a science complex with state-of-the-art computer and science labs, and a student recreation center.

The university stages several theatrical productions, musical performances and student art shows every year. UTPB has an active Student Life program and intramural sports like Ultimate Frisbee are a big part of student life at UT Permian Basin.

We are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division-II. Sports include men's and women's soccer, cross country, swimming and basketball, as well as men's baseball, women's softball and volleyball. The athletic program also supports cheerleading and a dance team.

Whether you arrange for a personal tour or come down for one of our Falcon Days, you’ll see the nicest student apartments in Texas. UT Permian Basin is a dynamic, growing campus. If you like to be outside, this it a great place to be.

I want you to have the very best college experience possible. UT Permian Basin’s focus on student life and academic excellence will help you do just that. Come join us!
