The Sandstorm, an annual magazine publication, is a collection of poems, short stories, and essays submitted by students and selected by a panel for publication. The magazine also prints photographs of student art that includes painting, sculpture, pottery, and photography. The Sandstorm is a student publication with its editor and staff selected from the student body. Distribution of The Sandstorm takes place each Spring. You may contact The Sandstorm through e-mail.

Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society. The central purpose of Sigma Tau Delta is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. UTPB's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta is the Alpha Alpha Iota chapter, and is co-sponsored by Dr. Nichole Rougeau-Vanderford and Ms. Sheena Stief. Members on the UTPB campus seek to promote the mastery of expression, encourage worthwhile reading, advance the study of literature, and sponsor a feeling of fellowship. This is often accomplished through joint involvement with The Sandstorm to produce an open mic poetry night. Other events include guest lecturers, as well as lectures from UTPB faculty to promote their work and accomplishments.
