Making a decision about your academic goal takes time and forethought.
The UTPB academic degree requires students to choose a Major for their course of study and a Minor study course. A Minor consists of a minimum of 18 credit hours, at least nine of which must be taken on the Junior and Senior levels. Students majoring in a discipline within the College of Arts & Sciences must complete a Minor with the exception of the following: a Double major or the BA in Humanities or the BFA in Art.
CAS offers specialized Minors that are specific to the individual's interest: Art History, Bilingual/ESL Studies, Coaching, Drama, Energy Studies, Latin American Studies, Special Populations and Women's Studies.
The College of Business and Engineering offers a Minor in accounting, general business, economics, finance, management, or marketing which are nicely compatible with the major course of studies offered by CAS.
There are requirements for the Minor as it relates to each academic discipline. Students will receive guidance from their Faculty Adviser and a degree plan will be devised in order to insure academic success of completion. Review the Undergraduate Catalog for the specific requirements concerning the areas available for a Minor.
