Earthquakes and Volcanoes
Professor Alan Jones at the State University of New York at Binghamton provides wonderful, Windows-based programs on volcanoes and earthquakes. You can download programs that animatedly display earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Indeed, one of these programs is used by the Smithsonian Institution.

This site at the Naval Academy provides a slick program (MicroDem) to view the DEM data. This program gives perspective views, slope maps, contour maps, trend-surface residuals, and much, much more. You can even figure out how to set up your artillery battery.
