Associate Professor of Petroleum Engineering
Dr. Kamel is a petroleum engineer with interests in drilling, completion and stimulation of oil and gas wells. Most of his research focuses on fluid characterization and fluid rheological and hydraulic properties. He is an expert in conducting experimental and analytical analysis of non-Newtonian fluid flow in straight and coiled tubing as well as annuli with emphasis on drag reducing fluids, surfactant and polymeric fluids, slurries and foams. He is an active member in SPE, AADE, and Society of Rheology. Dr. Kamel has a diverse experience in academia and industry in USA, Egypt and Middle East.
