Prior to joining the faculty at UT Permian Basin, Dr. Flocker was a member of the mechanical engineering faculty at Trine University in Angola, Indiana. He also worked as an engineering consultant serving the offshore oil industry in Houston, Texas and as a production and maintenance engineer for the U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Support Command in St. Louis, Missouri. He has research experience in high and low velocity impact including hurricane survivability of laminated architectural glass. His areas of expertise are solid mechanics and machine design with a current research interest in high-speed cam dynamics. Dr. Flocker is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the States of Colorado, Indiana, and Missouri.
