Welcome and thank you for your interest in the College of Business and Engineering at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. We are known for our innovative programs are particularly well suited to serve the needs of west Texas.
For those interested in business, we offer a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting, finance, management, or marketing as well as a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master’s in Public Accountancy (MPA). We are proud that the business degree is one of only approximately one-third of all schools of business in the USA that is accredited by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB). To achieve this accreditation, our school of business has to achieve the highest standards of academic excellence including rigorous standards for our faculty and learning outcomes for our students.
For those interested in engineering, we offer a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Industrial Technology. These programs are temporarily located in the CEED Building on Highway 191 and the Technology Building on south campus. The Mechanical Engineering program is accredited by ABET which is the benchmark for engineering programs. The Petroleum Engineering is currently in candidacy for accreditation by ABET.
A major contributor to students' success is their direct interaction with highly qualified faculty. The faculty possesses a wide background of industry experience and a network of business contacts. In addition, they continue to develop personally through consulting and research activities which enhance classroom teaching.
The Jan and Ted Roden Entrepreneurial Development Center encourages students to become involved in new business ventures. The director guides seminars and assists students interested in making the leap toward starting their own business upon graduation. Additionally there are several student business clubs allowing you to get to know your fellow students better.
We are fortunate in that the vast majority of our business and engineering graduates have landed professional positions immediately upon graduation. A high percentage of students are able to obtain internships that allow a deeper exploration of their chosen degree. The university also has an active career placement office to assist in job placement either before or after graduation.
Thank you for your interest in the College of Business and Engineering. We invite you to come to campus and visit us and look forward to serving you and seeing you as part of our college.
