The faculty members in the College of Business and Engineering at UT Permian Basin are pleased to announce the establishment of the School's first honor society. On May 11, 2000, the UT Permian Basin Chapter of Sigma Beta Delta was chartered. Induction ceremonies are now held in May of each year.
Sigma Beta Delta is an international honor society and was established in 1994. It currently has 170+ chapters in more than 40 states and over 10,000 members.
The purposes of Sigma Beta Delta are to encourage and recognize scholarship and achievement among students of business, management, and administration and to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.
Membership in Sigma Beta Delta is the highest national recognition a business student at UT Permian Basin may receive. To be eligible for membership, a student must rank in the upper 20 percent of the master's classes and be invited to membership by the faculty.
