Mission
The mission of the WTPC is to assist new principal
candidates as well as current principals in acquiring new skills,
proficiencies and the certifications needed to serve high need
school districts in the Permian Basin.
Program Overview
The WTPC is set up to serve two groups of professional
educators: education leadership students who are seeking certification
to become a campus principal, and current principals and assistant
principals of the Permian Basin.
Aspiring Principals
These participants are receiving an enhanced educational
leadership program from UTPB.
The key components include:
- Assistance with the cost of tuition, fees and books.
- A variety of initial assessments to assist in tailoring
an Individual Training Plan (ITP) for each student.
- Ongoing assessments to monitor the growth
and development of each participant on an individual basis.
- Access to special seminars, conferences and professional growth
activities that will enhance the traditional program coursework.
- Mentoring from a Principal Coach, selected from the home district.
- Access to additional resources from the staff of the WTPC.

the Permian Basin. These campus principals and assistant
principals will have access to a wide variety of seminars,
conferences and professional growth activites that will be
provided throughout the year. All
assessments and training offered by the WTPC are aligned
with the Texas Principal Competencies and the NCATE Educational
Leadership Council Constituents' Principal Standards.
