For the third consecutive year, The University of Texas of the Permian Basin has received at least $1 million from U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison to build the next generation of nuclear reactor. This year’s grant was for $1.2 million.
Known at UTPB as the HT3R Project, the High-Temperature Teaching and Test Reactor (HT3R) Energy Research Facility will be built near Andrews, TX, in a joint venture with Andrews, Ector, and Midland counties.
