FALCON FLEDGLINGS RESUME STORYTIME ON WEDNESDAYS
Contact: Iris Foster, Interim Public Information Officer, 432-552-2806
New children’s stories have been chosen for the Fall Falcon Fledgling Storytime at UTPB on Wednesdays from 9-9:30 a.m. The books will be read by EC-4 teacher certification students in the library foyer on campus. Parking spaces are often scarce, so carpooling would be helpful.
This is an excellent opportunity for preschoolers and their parents/caregivers to enjoy reading together. Every week each family receives a book to take home, because this program has been generously sponsored by Wal Mart, Inc.
The books are chosen to highlight various reading concepts such as letter identification, beginning sounds, rhyming, and alliteration. The schedule is as follows:
Sept. 15 Alexander and the Windup Mouse by Leo Lionni
Sept. 22 Clifford’s Busy Week by Norman Bridwell
Sept. 29 Chica Chica Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault
Oct. 6 Llama Llama Misses Mama by Anna Dewdney
Oct. 13 Autumn is for Apples by Michelle Knudsen
Oct. 20 Corduroy by Don Freeman
Oct. 27 Firefighter Ted by Andrea Beaty
Nov. 3 If You Give a Pig a Party by Laura Numeroff
Nov. 10 The Three Billy Goats Gruff illustrated by Stephen Carpenter
Nov. 17 David Goes to School by David Shannon
Dec. 1 I Like Myself! I Like Myself! by Karen Beaumont
