User Skills Requirements

You need the following skills to work in most web and web-enhanced courses (WC, WEC) at the university.

  • Computer access to the Internet using an Internet Service Provider (ISP) (i.e. America Online, NetWest, etc.) or UTPB computer labs.
  • Use a web browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer).
  • Send and receiving e-mail with attachments.
  • Use a word processor program (especially MS Word).
  • Save to a file and retrieve information from a file.
  • Download software or documents from the web.
  • Meet additional special requirements that are specific for a particular class.
