Frequently Asked Questions on Grants and Contracts

This FAQ is designed to help faculty and staff with grants by sharing in a concise form the information needed in the grant development process. It will also reflect common professional and university practice. It addresses the issues you may be asking as you work on a grant proposal or program. If you find an answer to be unclear, if you have further questions, or if you are not sure an answer fits your unique situation, please contact Graduate Studies and Research. This guide will meet your needs in grant development and administration.

The guide allows users to gather and use information to learn about improving programs that may be operated in or funded. Use of the model results in effective programming and offers great learning opportunities, better documentation of outcomes, and share knowledge about what works and why.

Sponsored Projects Review Form

The submission deadline of grant proposals is due at least ONE WEEK prior to the RFP due date. This form and copies of electronically submitted proposals should be returned to Graduate Studies and Research in MB 1208.

Institutional Review Board Form (IRB)

The attached application with detailed directions has been developed to facilitate compliance with the current interpretation of the U.S. Attorney General’s regulations regarding research with human subjects. To accomplish this, the institutional review board must be familiar with each proposal that is acted upon. At UTPB research protocols are approved by the IRB.
