Frequently Asked Questions on Grants and Contracts

This FAQ is designed to help faculty and staff with grants by sharing in a concise form the information needed in the grant development process. It will also reflect common professional and university practice. It addresses the issues you may be asking as you work on a grant proposal or program. If you find an answer to be unclear, if you have further questions, or if you are not sure an answer fits your unique situation, please contact Graduate Studies and Research. This guide will meet your needs in grant development and administration.

  

Institutional Review Board (IRB)   

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin has one IRB responsible for protecting human subjects who participate in research. The IRB provides review and oversight for all human subjects research activities performed on the campus;

§  by UTPB faculty, staff, or students on or off campus; and

§  by all other facilities under the purview of UTPB IRB

§  All review procedures meet or exceed the requirements set forth in 45 CFR 46

The UTPB IRB convenes monthly during the fall and spring semesters and only if needed during summer. 

All research studies submitted for IRB review at UTPB must be submitted using
this form. Please also review the information contained here.

 

 Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)

Sponsored Projects Review Form

The submission deadline of grant proposals is due at least ONE WEEK prior to the RFP due date. This form and copies of electronically submitted proposals should be returned to Graduate Studies and Research in MB 1208.
