Bio:
Leslie Toombs is Professor of Management and Pinkie Roden Chair of Entrepreneurship in the School of Business at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She earned her Doctor of Business Administration (Management) from Louisiana Tech University in 1989. Prior to joining the UT Permian Basin School of Business, Dr. Toombs served on the faculty at The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, Rockhurst University, and The University of Texas at Tyler. At UA Fort Smith, she initiated and directed the Family Enterprise Center housed within the College of Business. Dr. Toombs has consulted with many business organizations and worked with small businesses through the Small Business Institute® program and through her position as Executive Vice President of CMR Creative Marketing Resources, Inc. In addition, she has delivered many workshops on topics including strategic planning, managing conflict effectively, time management, and quality management. Dr. Toombs has written many articles and cases which have appeared in journals including Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Executive, and Case Research Journal. She has held many offices in professional organizations and is the former president and journal editor for Southwest Case Research Association. Dr. Toombs is currently serving as the Proceedings Editor for the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE)/Small Business Institute® (SBI) 2006 Annual Conference and President-Elect of Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ASBE). |
