Training, Qualifications, and Advancement
Most management accountant and internal auditor positions require
at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Professional
recognition through certification (CMA, CFM, CIA, etc.) or licensure
(CPA) provides a distinct advantage in the job market. Texas requires
CPA candidates to be college graduates and complete 150 semester
hours of college coursework including 30 credit hours of accounting
beyond principles of accounting.
