If you are looking to download the forms needed for your project, check out our Before You Start Anything Checklist to determine which forms you need, and then go to the Intel ISEF forms page (see above) where the forms can be downloaded in Adobe's Acrobat Reader (.PDF) format. On this site, you should find the rules for the division's appropriate for you, your children, or your students. Please carefully read this important information.
Students in grades 3-5 must qualify at a local fair in order to enter the Junior Division of the Regional Fair. Entries to the PBRSF will be accepted from those who finish first, second, or third in their category for their grade level at the local fair.
Students in grades 6-8 enter the Intermediate Division of the PBRSF.
Students in grades 9-12 are considered Senior Division for the PBRSF.
Finally, and most importantly, students participating in the PBRSF, and/or local fair leading to it, are subject to the same regulations as the those attending the International Fair. In particular, any student presenting a project from third grade chemistry to senior division physics, must complete ALL applicable forms and receive all applicable SRC/IRB approvals as described in ISEF Rules. We strongly recommend that every student who will enter a local fair or the PBRSF go through our Before You Start Anything' Checklist.
Award winners in both the Intermediate and Senior divisions qualify for the Texas State Science and Engineering Fair. Two outstanding Senior Division individual projects will be selected to represent the PBRSF as Finalists at the 2012 International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, AZ from May 12-17, 2013.
If you have any questions about the fair, the conduct of student projects, requirements for entry, whatever, PLEASE contact the Fair Director. The rules are fairly strict, as they are in the real world for scientific researchers, and we do not want any students trapped by violations that will bar their projects from the fair.

In 7th grade and up nearly every student in the Permian Basin ceases to participate in the science fair, despite the scholarships ($152,000 worth offered from UTPB, more from State and International science fairs) and achievement it represents. The science fair doesn't have to be a ton of extra work for you. Show 7th-12th grade students the forms wizard and have them or their parents send the forms to our SRC directly. If they need guidance on the project, consult the links page for a step-by-step guide to finding expert help and finishing a science fair project. Students in 7th grade and up can follow to successfully complete a science fair project on their own without overburdening you. I can also come to your school and talk to the students about it to raise interest, contact me if interested. -- Steve

All of the above donors gave very significantly to the Fair this year. We're hoping to expand the pool of students who are able to afford to come to the fair next year with these generous donations. We're also grateful to our volunteer judges, anyone with a reasonable knowledge of a scientific area is encouraged to sign up below!
