A Texas Science Scholar Freshman Student must demonstrate they are ready to take college level Pre-calculus or high in their first semester at UTPB. This can be done through one of the following ways:
Through a combination of your rank in your high school graduation class and your score on the Math section of the SAT or ACT as shown on this chart.
Completion of MATH 1314 or higher from an accredited college or university. This may be done through dual enrollment or in summer school before the freshman year.
A passing score of the appropriate standardized exam—Advancement Placement, International Baccalaureate, or College Level Examination. http://ss.utpb.edu/admissions/credit-by-exam/
Satisfactory score on ACCUPLACER Exam given by the UTPB PASS office during Summer Orientation.
