Please join us in congratulating the first generation of the Spanish Masters Degree Program, Spring 2006. Each semester, the Office of UTPB Graduate Studies offers two to three graduate assistantships of about $4,000 per semester. To apply for these, you need to fulfill the following requirements:
1) Take the GRE Exam
2) Fill out the Graduate Application Form (providing official copies of all transcripts)
3) Write an essay is Spanish (1 page long an any literature topic).
4) Fill out the Graduate Assistantship Application Form

Graduate Assistant Responsibilities:
2) Be willing to enroll in 9 Credit Hours at the Master Level.
4) Be available to work with a Spanish professor 19 ½ hours a week, helping him/her to do research and to assist in preparation of material for teaching classes.

It is important that students interested in the Masters Degree Program in Spanish are aware that they may apply (through the Graduate Studies home page) for a scholarship of $1,000.00 (per year) that is being offered to our new graduate students. In order to qualify, they must take the GRE Exam, receive regular status admission, and register for 9 graduate credit hours.
