Welcome to Recreational Programs and Facilities!
I would like to welcome you and
invite you to make use of our campus recreational facilities
and programs. Participation in some type of vigorous
physical activity on a regular basis will greatly enhance your
overall University experience and get you on your way to
leading an active, healthy lifestyle.
Our gymnasium facility includes a
hardwood floor gym, a synthetic floor gym, four racquetball
courts, a dance/aerobic room, a weight room, an equipment
issue office, an athletic training room, classrooms, and
locker rooms. Four new lighted tennis courts and a
lighted soccer field provide space for outdoor recreational
activities, along with many areas on campus for running,
walking, biking, and roller blading. The duck pond also
provides a place for quiet relaxation. The exciting news
for 2001 is that our Olympic size outdoor swimming pool will
be renovated and back in operation after ten years of being
empty!
You may choose to participate in
athletics, intramurals, Kinesiology classes, or open
recreation. Programs are planned to attempt to meet the
diverse needs of the University community. Feel free to
offer suggestions for new activities or programs that we would
try.
Please stop by and say
"hello" and take a tour of the gym. My office
is on the first floor, Gym 102 or call ext 2335.
Sincerely,
Rob Rankin
Director of Student Recreational Programs
