General Information

HSI Mentor Program

The HSI Mentor Program was developed to help incoming and current UTPB students adjust to college by providing mentors who already understand how to be successful in college.

Mentors are successful UTPB students who have the desire to help freshman and sophomores succeed.

The Program is for All Majors

Protégés come from different majors and students who have not declared a major participate as well. Mentors come from different backgrounds and majors, so they offer a wide variety of information to the students they serve.

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin is fully accredited by the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools.

The HSI Mentor Program is provided by UTPB's Hispanic Serving Institution grant provided by the U.S. Department of Education. The program is open to all UTPB freshmen and sophomore students.
