Q6: We have our own health insurance,
can we have the "medical service plan" fee waived?
A: The "medical service"
does not serve the same purpose as your medical insurance
since it covers only those services provided by Primary Medical
Clinic and does not include hospitalization. There is an $8
co-payment at the time of the visit to the clinic. Therefore,
if you have your own health insurance, it is not necessary
to use it for services covered by this plan. For additional
information, contact the Office of the Vice President for
Student Services at 432-552-2600.

A: UTPB rates high among the safest
campuses in the state. UTPB

specified information in compliance with the Federal Student Right to Know and Campus
Security Act (P.L. 101-542, as amended). For more information

find a tutor?
A: Comprehensive academic support services designed to
improve the student's learning potential are available through the Programs Assisting
Students Study (PASS) Office. For information on services provided, call 432-552-2630.

Q11: I am paying my son's/daughter's
tuition. Who do I contact if I want to find out if he/she
is attending classes regularly, or how he/she is doing academically,
or to obtain a copy of his/her transcript?
A: If your son or daughter is24 years of age or under and you
claim him/her as a dependent on your income tax, you may request this information. If your
son or daughter is 25 years of age or older, no information can be provided to you without
his/her signed permission. This is in compliance with the Federal Right to Privacy Act.
All transcript requests must be made by the student and directed to the Office of the
Registrar. Transcript requests from a third party will not be honored.

What kind of services do you offer?
A: The Counseling Center
provides free counseling services to students. The PASS Office offers academic counseling in the areas
of study skills, career counseling and career interest testing and short-term problem
solving counseling services.

A: The State Legislature establishes
the tuition for all public colleges and universities. As such,
tuition is subject to change with little or no previous notice.
