If you prefer to submit a "hard copy" you also have the
option of downloading the Texas Common Application and mailing the
application to us. You will need to sign on to the Coordinating

The information you receive will be based on the type of applicant
that you are. Please review the following categories to obtain the

You should complete a freshman application if you are a high school
student with no previous college attendance, or if you have taken
or are taking college courses while still in high school. You should
also complete a freshman application if you have enrolled for college
classes after graduating from high school but have not yet completed
24 semester hours of college-level work or if you enrolled but withdrew
from the college before earning any credit. The following
is required to apply to UTPB:
- Completed application form & residency questionnaire by
completing the electronic
application
- Official High School transcript showing grade average, class
rank, or APPROXIMATE class rank and date of or expected date
of graduation
- SAT or ACT exam scores
- Proof of having passed all sections of TAKS (Texas students)
- Proof of having complied with TSI requirement (THEA/TASP, Etc.)

If you have completed 24 or more semester hours of college credit
but have not yet obtained a bachelor's degree, you should complete
a transfer student application. You should complete the transfer
student application if you are either degree or non-degree seeking
or a transient. A transient refers to a student that is enrolled
in another college and wishes to apply as a transient student and
transfer courses back to the home institution. You should also complete
a transfer application if you are pursuing a second bachelor's degree.
The following is required to apply to UTPB.

If you have at least a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited
college or university and wish to pursue a master's degree, obtain
teacher certification, or enroll as a non-degree student, complete
the graduate application by clicking on
electronic application.

For purposes of admissions, an international student is defined
as "a student who is, or will be, in the United States on a
nonimmigrant student visa." This specifically refers
to the Student (F) and Exchange Visitor (J) Visas. International
students admission requirements apply but are not limited to international
students on F or J visas.
International Students - Transferring from a US institution:
- Completed application form
- Official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously
attended in the US, if only for a short period of time
- Proof of having complied with TSI requirement (THEA/TASP, Etc.)
- Copies of mark sheets from institutions attended in home country or other
educational institution attended
- Application deadlines
International Students - Transferring from outside of the US:

Audit
If you wish to enroll for a course but do not desire course credit
(Audit), contact the Office of the Registrar. This option
is not available for Contract Study, self-paced courses, thesis,
research or practicum. To contact the Office of the Registrar

With few exceptions, you are entitled on your request to
be informed about the information U. T. Permian Basin collects
about you. Under Sections 552.021 and 552.023 of the Texas
Government Code, you are entitled to receive and review
the information. Under Section 559.004 of the Texas Government
Code, you are entitled to have U. T. Permian Basin correct
information about you that is held by us and that is incorrect,
in accordance with the procedures set forth in The University
of Texas System Business Procedures Memorandum 32.
The information that U. T. Permian
Basin collects will be retained and maintained as
required by Texas records retention laws (Section 441.180
et seq. of the Texas Government Code) and rules.
Different types of information are kept for different
periods of time.

Entering Freshmen and International Students:
- Fall Semester July 15
- Spring Semester November 15
- Summer Term April 15
Transfer Students & Non-Degree & Summer Transients:
Transfer students may apply through the registration dates. However,
to provide better advising services to the students it is strongly
recommended that the application and all required documentation
be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the date of enrollment.

Transient Students.
Transient students seeking admission for one semester
or summer session provided they are in good standing at another
college or university are welcome at UT Permian Basin. Only a current
transcript from the last institution will be required prior to enrolling
at UT Permian Basin. A student will not be admissible if (s)he is
ineligible to return immediately to his/her former institution.
