of the types of financial aid.
Grants - federal or state
funds which are awarded based on financial need of the
student. Grants do not have to be paid back.
Application forms: FAFSA
Loans - borrowed funds that
must be repaid. Please go to that web page for more
information.

Also, the student must sign a master promissory note (MPN).
The MPN will be sent to the student by the lending agency and
must be returned to the lending agency.
Scholarships - funds
that do not have to be paid back. The criteria vary.
Not all are need- based or academically-based. Please go
