Course Description:
This course explores film music-today's leading art form. It traces the history of film music, the role of emotions, feelings, and senses, the questions of reality and illusion, the ethics of illusion, and the trends toward the future. Students will learn to critically discuss the language of film music and the many roles it plays in cinematic drama. Finally, participants will learn to document the aesthetic experience of major film scores.
