The Odessa Council for the Arts and Humanities has announced this year’s read for One Book Odessa: “The Ocean at the End of the Lane” by Neil Gaiman.
Set in Sussex, England, Gaiman wrote about a middle-aged man who returns to his childhood home, where he revisits dark memories and the memory of a girl who helped him navigate feelings about a local man’s suicide.
Gaiman, a No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of more than 20 books, has also appeared on “The Simpsons,” “Arthur,” and has written for the TV series “Babylon 5.”
According to a news release, One Book Odessa aims to encourage literacy and reading throughout Ector County. It is also promoting the Ector County Library and its services.
