The University of Texas of the Permian Basin now offers a Bachelor of Science degree to qualified, full-time students majoring in Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Information Systems and Mathematics at a cost of $10,000 in tuition and fees for the four-year curriculum.

In three consecutive years, three UTPB pre-med graduates have received very prestigious awards. The newest recipient is Balmorhea native and 2009 UTPB graduate, James Tarin. In May Tarin graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine, and was subsequently named the recipient of the Annelle M. Ahmed Women’s Health Care Award.
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin College of Education received word today that they had achieved full re-accreditation by the National Council or Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
UTPB is only one of 19% of Texas four-year colleges (15 out of 81) to meet NCATE’s standards and the second University of Texas institution. NCATE reviews on-campus and online undergraduate and graduate programs offered by a university.
