UTPB Establishes Ingenuity Center

Dr. W. David Watts and Dr. Juli D’Ann Ratheal-Burnett announced the establishment of The Ingenuity Center on June 3, 2015.

The primary mission of the UTPB Ingenuity Center is to increase the number of students who pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics by offering support to districts, teachers and students across West Texas.

Reduced Out-of-State Tuition

UTPB’s new tuition rate for out-of-state students will be lower than in-state tuition in many other states. The in-state tuition plus $35 per credit hour for out-of-state students will be approximately $500 more than in-state tuition, depending on the number of hours taken. This reduced tuition will not affect tuition for international students.

UTPB Announces New Dean

Michael S. Zavada has accepted the position of dean for the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin effective June 30, 2015.

“Dr. Zavada brings to our College of Arts and Sciences tremendous administrative experience at major universities as well as a celebrated research record,” said Dan Heimmermann, vice-president and provost of UTPB.

UTPB Establishes A Center For Early Child Development

The multi-disciplinary Center for Early Childhood Development will serve the Permian Basin region as the focal point for professional development, academic research, evidence-based service delivery, and systems development and improvement with a focus on young children (birth to age 5).

MyUTPB to Replace Campus Connect

Big changes are coming for students and how you access your information. By fall 2015, Campus Connect will be replaced with a new student portal, MyUTPB. This means fall class registration must be done through MyUTPB - not Campus Connect. Starting April 1st, anything regarding the fall 2015 semester and beyond will only be accessible through MyUTPB.
