Effective Spring 2013, The University of Texas of the Permian Basin will offer a Bachelor of Applied Art and Sciences (BAAS) online completion degree at a total cost of $5,000 in tuition and fees for students who currently hold an Associates of Applied Sciences degree (AAS).
The online BAAS degree is open to any Texas resident with an AAS degree in appropriate fields. The University of Texas of the Permian Basin offers this $5,000 program to all Texas community colleges that offer the AAS degree.
In three consecutive years, three UTPB pre-med graduates have received very prestigious awards. The newest recipient is Balmorhea native and 2009 UTPB graduate, James Tarin. In May Tarin graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine, and was subsequently named the recipient of the Annelle M. Ahmed Women’s Health Care Award.
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin visual art programs received word today that they had achieved full re-accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
“The preparation and hard work has paid off,” said David Watts, president of UTPB. “NASAD is an accrediting organization for education programs in art and design and UTPB continues to meet their high standard.”
The UTPB visual arts program was sixth in Texas to be awarded accreditation with NASAD.
