A High Impact~International Forum presented by the College of Arts & Sciences and JBS Leadership Institute is Thursday, October 27, at 6:30-8:00 pm, in the JBS Lecture Hall. Hear Russian speaker, Elizabeth Dombayan and UTPB International Faculty, Dr. Ziyanak, Dr. Zobaa, & Dr. Zeng. This Forum is designed to discuss and share international perspectives on topics with a global view that promotes better understanding between cultures. Moderator is Pat Canty.

Founders Day Chili Cook-Off

Although we are 14 individual campuses we are all one family under The University of Texas System. Founders Day is one day to represent our family, our unity, and our pride in being a part of UT System. In honor of this day UTPB staff council is hosting the 2nd annual Founders Day Chili Cook-Off on Friday, November 11 from 12 - 1:30 PM in the SAC.

Dr. Watts to Step Down as President

After serving 15 years leading The University of Texas of the Permian Basin and overseeing a period of unprecedented growth and evolution, Dr. W. David Watts announced in the annual fall convocation held on campus today, that he had submitted his resignation as president, effective August 31, 2017. “Working together, I think we have accomplished things that no one, perhaps not even ourselves thought possible,” he said in his message.

Outstanding Alumni Award winner

Celeste Potter BBA ‘15, was honored as the 2016 Outstanding Alumni award winner at the Homecoming football game. Celeste is Director of the Education Foundation of Odessa, an OHS graduate and holds a BBA in Marketing. Celeste currently serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of the Permian Basin, Friends of the Ector County Library and Catholic Charities.

The Falcons next game is against Midwestern State in Wichita Falls on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. Their next home game is next Saturday vs Texas A&M - Commerce on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa, TX. Tickets to home games are available for purchase and admission is FREE with current UTPB student ID!
