Midland Health Simulation and Learning Resource Center
It is with great appreciation that we announce a growing partnership with Midland Health. Their generous support and naming of the Midland Health Simulation and Learning Resource Center is ensuring that technology and training will be available for nursing students learning new skills, as well as practicing nurses who continue their lifelong learning as new technology develops.
Thank you, Midland Health, for your investment in the future of health care in the Permian Basin!
The Midland Health Simulation and Learning Resource Center brings classroom information “to life” for College of Health Sciences and Human Performance students looking to become more confident and competent in their skills.
Extensive, real-life clinical experiences are offered in a safe, holistic, and supportive environment. The Midland Health Simulation and Learning Resource Center is used to equip students with technical and critical thinking skills, enabling them to provide competent and safe patient care in a risk-free environment.
Learning through simulation is an interactive process and is student-centered, promoting deeper learning experiences and increasing student understanding with long-term memory and recall. Simulation assists students in learning to respond to a variety of clinical situations in realistic settings. Students begin utilizing the labs soon after beginning their program and continue throughout their course studies.
The Midland Health Simulation and Learning Resource Center "Sim Lab"
The Midland Health Simulation and Learning Resource Center “Sim Lab” simulates real-life locations such as a hospital, clinic, labor and delivery, and medication delivery room.
Anatomage Table
The Anatomage Table has advanced visualization technology that enables students to digitally explore 3D renderings of anatomy, one layer at a time.
Biomechanics Lab
The Biomechanics Lab offers students and researchers the opportunity to visually experience the science of movement.
Advanced Cardiac Simulation
An advanced cardiac simulation manikin, affectionately known as "Harvey", prepares students for coronary emergencies and procedures they may encounter in their jobs.
