Veterans Day Ceremony
The University will be hosting several events the week of Veterans Day

The University of Texas Permian Basin will be honoring our student and community veterans all week long beginning Monday, November 8 ahead of Veterans Day.

“UT Permian Basin is committed to serving those who served our country,” said Corey Benson, Dean of Students. “The events sponsored during the week of Veterans Day this year expand on the programs we offered in previous years. We look forward to continuing to expand programs and services to support student veterans and military-affiliated students.”

The University has several events in store including a Veteran Health Fair, a Legal Clinic for military-affiliated students, and a Veterans Day ceremony.

"Many veterans underutilize many of the services and benefits that they are entitled to often from just not knowing about them. These kind of events help create awareness for veterans," said Richard Ortiz, UTPB's Coordinator of Veteran and Foster Alumni Services "These events also help build a sense of community for veterans. As non-traditional students, veterans do not always easily relate to other students so any events where veterans can meet other veterans are well accepted because they foster a sense of belonging."
