Kinder students raising hands in classroom
Registration is now open for First 5 Permian Basin's Kinder Camp 2022.

Kinder Camp is an enjoyable, educational experience available for children in Ector and Midland Counties who will be entering kindergarten in fall 2022. Kinder Camp is a parent-led kindergarten-readiness activity camp that is FREE to all participants! Families who register will be given the materials they need to complete the virtual activities at a pace that works for them. Though there are no set dates or hours the activities need to be done by, there will be scheduled virtual activities for families to participate in July 11-15. Parents who would like to participate in the live events will be emailed a link to join.

To register your child for Kinder Camp, fill-out the camp registration form. For questions, contact First 5 Permian Basin by calling: 432-552-4025 or emailing: First5@utpb.edu.

About First 5 Permian Basin

First 5 Permian Basin is a part of the Department of Community and Family Health in UT Permian Basin’s College of Health Sciences and Human Performance (CoHSHP). It differs from other programs in CoHSHP as it is not a UT Permian Basin academic program. First 5’s focus is on education for children during the critical learning years before they enter grade school. The program is important to the area because over half of West Texas children are not prepared when they enter kindergarten.

First 5 provides three FREE programs to families:

  • Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY)
  • Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP)
  • Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Programs include a personal educator, access to high-quality curriculum and lessons, parent and child screenings/assessments, and a diverse resource network to provide young West Texans a solid learning foundation.
