The University of Texas Permian Basin recently hosted HEB employees (or Partners) on campus for a 7-week program called H-E-B YOU.
The HEB-YOU program allows HEB Partners to take two non-credit courses at UTPB, giving them a positive experience on a college campus. The 26 students took classes on Interpersonal Communication and Retail Math. HEB pays their Partners for their participation in this program.
“An important part of the mission of UTPB is to serve the region. When we partner with companies like HEB on a program like this, we are fulfilling this critical part of our mission,” said UTPB Senior Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Dr. Becky Spurlock. “Bringing people to campus who haven’t been here before is an opportunity to showcase what the University has to offer to potential students and the Permian Basin community.”
HEB plans to continue this program and UT Permian Basin looks forward to hosting again!
