UT Permian Basin is thrilled to announce that we are officially a part of the Special Olympics Texas!

The Special Olympics is a year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This program gives them the opportunity to experience physical fitness, develop skills, and friendships with other athletes and the community.

The University will be holding a campus-wide kick-off on Wednesday, January 31 from 11am-1pm at the UTPB Gym. Staff, faculty, and students are invited to attend to learn more about how they can get involved. Students can also join newly created UTPB Special Olympics Student Organization!

Special Olympic athletes and their families are invited to join us for our community kick-off on Saturday, February 17. Join us for both our women’s and men’s games followed by a basketball clinic and dance!
