19 mechanical and petroleum engineering students and one faculty member were a part of the ceremony.

The Order of the Engineer is an independent organization started by a group of engineers in Ohio in 1966.

“The purpose is to cultivate a sense of pride and commitment to the profession that unites us,” said Faculty Member Dr. Ahmed Alzahabi.

The ceremony includes the placing of a stainless-steel ring on the small finger of his or her working hand. It provides an identifying mark of an engineer.
