The UTPB Department of Kinesiology strives to promote health and wellbeing by teaching and sharing knowledge about the ways healthy living, fitness, and athletics performance can enhance lives. Our faculty bring advanced physiological, psychological, and sociological perspectives on physical activity and health. If you have a passion for working with physically active people in a recreational, professional, educational, or therapeutic setting, we offer both undergraduate and graduate level training and coaching certification. As a partner in a University of Texas System collaborative program, U.T. Permian Basin can offer many graduate courses online.

UT Permian Basin Department of Kinesiology is based in the new D. Kirk Edwards Family Human Performance Building located in the north side of campus. This state-of-the-art facility opened in 2020, giving students access to cutting-edge, professional-grade equipment including hot and cold hydrotherapy pools and a biomechanics lab equipped with the latest tools to prepare students for a professional career.
