In partnership with the UTeach program and Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP), UTPB is able to cover tuition and mandatory fees for undergraduates majoring in education in a science or math field. UTeach Permian Basin is a unique model that helps students prepare for the challenges of a 21st century STEM classroom and focuses on hands-on experiences, incorporating technology into the curriculum, culturally relevant teaching practices, application of content knowledge, and self-reflection. Principals and administrators have consistently noted that teachers prepared under the UTeach model are more qualified and confident than teachers prepared under other traditional university programs or by alternative certification.

Teachers who are prepared through UTeach Permian Basin will also have the support of thousands of graduates from other programs, the services of the UTeach Institute, and a community of educators who know the importance of rigorous math and science teacher preparation.
