Online Courses

At UT Permian Basin, we make it easy for working nurses to continue their education. There are no pre-requisite general education courses, and any needed general education courses may be completed online alongside the nursing courses.

  • The RN to BSN coursework consists of 11 total nursing courses for a total of 31 credit hours.
  • Students will receive 26 advanced placement credits upon completion of the nursing program, and the remaining 64 credits are comprised of the pre-professional nursing core and general education courses.
  • Many of the general education requirements could be transferred in, based on a transcript review and individual advising. Any remaining general education courses missing can be completed online and at the same time as the nursing courses.

Degree Requirements

  • A BSN degree requires a minimum of 120 semester credit hours.
  • Students must complete 28 semester credit hours of core nursing courses.
  • Students must complete one of the following management electives: Management Concepts and Original Theory or Business Communications.
  • The online option will be conducted totally online except for required clinical practicums held in the student’s local community, which will be arranged according to written agreements between the affiliating agency and UT Permian Basin.
