Transient Students

A student granted admission as a transient is a non-degree-seeking student. A transient student is enrolled for one semester or summer session provided they are in good standing at another college or university.

  2. Pay the $40 application fee

    You can pay this online or by credit card, bank draft, or U.S. check.

  3. Send in your documents

    Send us the official transcript from the most recent college/university attending or previously attended.

Transient Student Requirements

Transient students seeking admission for one semester or summer session provided they are in good standing at another college or university are welcome at UT Permian Basin. Only a current transcript from the current/most recent institution will be required prior to enrolling at UT Permian Basin. A student will not be admissible if they are ineligible to return immediately to their former institution.

UT Permian Basin evaluates credit only from generally accepted academic institutions with regional accreditation. Transient students must:

  • have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (C) on a 4.0 grading system.
  • be eligible to re-enroll in the colleges previously attended.

Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Requirement - Must show evidence of having received the Bacterial Meningitis vaccination or qualified exemption. (Students who are 22 years of age or older or planning to take online courses only - no campus-based courses- are exempt.)
