Dr. Arias-Monje joined UTPB in Fall 2021. As a Fulbright Fellow, he obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He completed his Maters and Undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (National University of Colombia) in Bogota, Colombia. His research includes high-performance polymer fiber and carbon fiber nanocomposites and the use of photo and photoelectrocatalysis in the treatment of water and water splitting.
