Please meet Dr. Brian Bobier, assistant clinical professor and coordinator of clinical education in the Athletic Training Department.

Dr. Bobier brings 20 years of clinical experience to UT Permian Basin, including 15 years as an athletic trainer in college and professional baseball. This includes stops at the University of Houston, The University of Texas, Kansas State University, Texas Rangers, and Miami Marlins. During his time in professional baseball, Mr. Bobier served in various roles within the Rangers and Marlins organization, including rehabilitation coordinator and athletic training coordinator.

Dr. Bobier came to UT Permian Basin in 2021 after working as an educator and athletic trainer in the secondary school setting at Okarche Public Schools in Okarche, Oklahoma. While at Okarche, Dr. Bobier served on the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Association Secondary Schools Committee and volunteered as a host athletic trainer for the NCAA Division 1 Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Bobier received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2001, a Master's in Education degree from the University of Houston in 2004, and Doctor of Athletic Training degree from A.T. Still University - Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2022. He currently teaches in the undergraduate and graduate athletic training programs.  Dr. Bobier's areas of interest in research are patient-reported outcome measures in athletic training and the overhead athlete.  He is married to Jill Bobier and they have one daughter, Madison.
