Assistant Professor
Department of Math and Physics
Office
ST Room 2244

I earned my Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008 where I specialized in Number Theory and Algebra.  My professional experience includes working for the Mathematics Departments at Kansas State University and the University of Texas at Brownsville.  More recently, I spent four years working for the Department of Actuarial Science at the Drake University College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa where I joined the Society of Actuaries and began to concentrate on data analytics education.  I am currently introducing my mathematics students to the open-source R Project for Statistical Computing and teaching them to work with RStudio.  I am excited to be a part of establishing a Data Analytics program here at UT-Permian Basin and am looking forward to teaching our first Machine Learning course in Fall 2018.
