Dr. Christopher Hiatt obtained the rank of Professor of Mathematics in 2021. Dr. Hiatt has served as the Coordinator of the Graduate Mathematics Program since 2013. Dr. Hiatt served as the school board president for the UTPB STEM academy charter school for nearly three years, from 2015 to 2017. Dr. Hiatt served as the elected Southwest Regional Director for the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (TCTM) for eight years, from 2014 to 2021. Dr. Hiatt obtained tenure and the rank of Associate Professor of Mathematics in 2013. Dr. Hiatt earned the University of Texas System Regents Outstanding Teaching Award in 2012. Dr. Hiatt joined UTPB as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics in 2007. Dr. Hiatt earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 2007.
