After completing Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physics at Sam Houston State University Paul began his 4-decade career in the petroleum industry at GSI, where he designed and implemented seismic processing algorithms for the TI Advanced Scientific Super Computer.  He was transferred to the TI Equipment Group where he worked on the U.S. Air Force Navistar GPS project.  After TI Paul was employed by Johnson Controls and later by Sun Oil Company where he provided technical support for Well Log Analysis, Mapping, and Petroleum Engineering.  For 37 years prior to joining UTPB as Lecturer/Technician Paul held various technical and management positions with William Petroleum Consultants ending as Vice President of Information Systems and Senior Geotechnical Analyst.
