Lieutenant Bob Hammerman

Lt Hammerman

Lieutenant Hammerman spent his early years growing up and attending schools in Illinois and Michigan. He graduated from Oakland Community College with a degree in law enforcement. His early law enforcement career was spent in Detroit, Michigan, and Houston, Texas. Lt. Hammerman came to Odessa, Texas, in the early 1980s where he was employed by the Odessa Police Department.

Recently, Lt. Hammerman retired from the Odessa Police Dept. with 26 years. He presently holds licenses for a Master Peace Officer, State Performance Driving Instructor, Certified Special Investigator, a Field Training Instructor, and was certified as a Media Relations Officer from the Southern Law Enforcement Institute.

During Lt. Hammerman's Odessa Police Dept. career he held several positions such as Field Training Officer, Accident Investigator, Criminal Investigator for Person's Division, Media Relations Officer, Training Coordinator, Field Training Sergeant, and lastly as a Patrol Supervisor.
Lt. Hammerman is married with three daughters (one a UTPB graduate and another daughter currently enrolled). He joined UTPB Police Dept. in April 2008, as the Patrol Supervisor, bringing his 31 total years of law enforcement to UTPB. Lt. Hammerman and Chief Hain have dedicated to changing the direction of the UTPB Police Department and moving in a positive direction with the growth of UTPB.
