Paula Cox earned her BA in Art from the University of Arkansas in 1975. She did post-graduate work at UTPB in the 1980's. She has been an exhibiting artist in painting for many years. In 1986 she and her family moved to the Texas Hill Country town of Leakey, Tx. She taught art in the public school there for four years. Five years ago she moved to San Antonio on a part-time basis and began to work in relief printmaking. With a background in painting and a love of color, Paula learned thetechniques of reduction color printing, a technique developed by Picasso. More recently, she has introduced hand papermaking and pulp painting into her prints. Letterpress books are also a new medium of expression. Paula's influences include comic books, tattoos, Milagros, graffiti, and popular culture in general.
